SDCFOA Information Update - Steve Coover - September 10, 2024

Just a couple of important reminders and one announcement:

1 - One official has reported that his Arbiter Account was hacked and game fees payments were stolen.  I've had a practice of not collecting those fees in Arbiter, rather, I've transferred the funds as soon as I'm aware they have deposited into Arbiter.  Just an FYI....

2 - When there is any question about the start time of a varsity game upon completion of the JV game, please seek out the two head coaches and determine the "new" game time.  Most times a conference has an agreed-upon warm up time so the new start time is easily determined.  If possible, put the correct time until kickoff on the scoreboard before leaving for the locker room.  This procedure will inform all involved of the new start time, and will inform the crew of their appearance time (30-minutes prior to kickoff.).

3 - Heated contest and one team and their fans are HOT.  Our Association procedure is to gather quickly and leave (jogging) off the field together.  Do not linger unless the exit is blocked by angry fans.  The crew can then go to the "calmer" side of the field and wait for a safe, or escorted, exit.  The home school is responsible for our safety, so allow them to do what is required if you can't get off quickly.

Have a great week #4 of football.  It's going very fast! - Steve Coover
